| Okay. So...this is crazy. The love of God for us. I mean, just think about it. He is the one pronouncing judgement. He is Holy and perfect and righteous, and even our best efforts at righteousness are like filthy rags. We are pretty bad...no VERY bad off! And because of His righteousenss, He must punish sin. I mean, if He just ignored it, what would set Hiim apart from us? Something must be done. So, like I said...He is the one giving the punishment. But yet He loves us so much He says WAIT! I will I am providing FOR YOU a substitution so that you do not have to take upon MY wrath. I am providing for YOU a way to escape MY judgement. And that substitution is Christ, His SON. Whooaaah! That's crazy! His only Son He gave to take MY place for HIS wrath. He poured out HIS OWN wrath on HIS OWN son for me...and for you! Essentially, God is saving us from Himself by giving of Himself. That is love. That is crazy.
Sorry if I over used the bold and caps in this post, but I hope you get the point of what they were trying to make.
| Okay, after a month, I guess I will update, although this will be short.
1. I am not going to do music education anymore. I am going to get a bachelors of arts in music and a spanish degree with teaching certificate, and also get certifiied to teach english as a second language. I love spanish. Yes, I love spanish. Really. Any time I hear people speaking in spanish, no matter where I am I just want to go up to them and start speaking to them (in spanish of course) and ask them where they are from and find out all about them. I usually don't, but I sure want to. I am just drawn to it. One would think that after hearing a bajillion people speaking in spanish that I would get used to it, or that it would get old or something, but it doesn't. No, no. It doesn't.
2. I am going to Nicaragua for 10 days in July to dig a water well and tell the people there of Christ, the Living Water....that is very exciting!
3. I bought a ticket to return to Chile!!!! Yes, I am excited. I miss Chile a lot. I probably dream about it at LEAST once a week. I'm going for 5 weeks this summer, although it would have been great to just buy a one-way ticket, but I don't think my mom and dad would be too keen on that idea.
So, that's all the big obvious stuff that is happening with me. Yup. That's it. Well, then there's all the little spiritual stuff, but nothing like big and huge and obvious. Just litlle stuff. Choa chao.
| So, I was asked to update...do here it goes. I got back on the 28th of December, and since then have had great family and friend time. I got a job at Sylvan Learning Center teaching/tutoring, and I love it. definately my favorite job so far...I feel useful. I'm actually making a difference...not just taking peoples money or putting papers in a folder. Not that there is anything wrong with these types of jobs..I enjoyed them while I did them. But after 6 months of loving little girls, I knew I would not be able to stand spending my time doing something like that. So, God in His love and grace provided me with this job...hooray for God!
I am now double majoring in spanish and music education, although I am not taking any spanish classes this semester...scheduling problems. However, i will hopefully have 2 spanish tutoring jobs...hooray! I am enjoying being home and excited about school (for the most part) and work, but I DEFINATLEY miss everyone in Chile. The past 3 nights I have dreamt about people in Chile...which for me, means I miss them.
God is doing great things in me...hooray for Him! emily
| Wow. I didn't realize how much I missed my family until I saw pictures of them from Christmas. I love you my family, and I can't wait to see you!!!
I sure hope God has it in His will to bring me back here to Chile soon. I am going to miss the people here lots!!!!
Si alguien de Chile lee este, te quiero mucho, y espero que Dios me trae por aca PRONTO!
| So, I´m exauhsted. Emotionally and physically. Well, not quite exauhsted, but tired. Here's that time I have gone to bed the past 4 nights...4am, 1230 am, 430 am and 530am. And I don' t think I will be going to bed early tonight. The night of the 24th is the big celebration for Christmas...they open the gifts after midnight. But God is giving me strength. I am excited to come home, but really sad to leave. But I am going to enjoy my last few days here. In between my crying sessions I am going to laugh and have fun. Well, it is time to eat luch. Chao! Nos vemos pronto. emily | | |
